First University-Industry Research Consortium Roadshow Held in Universiti Malaysia Kelantan Kampus Jeli
The University-Industry Research Consortium (UIRC) recently embarked on its first roadshow at Universiti Malaysia Kelantan Kampus Jeli (UMK Jeli) to promote the UIRC initiative to geology and geoscience students. Nearly 200 students and 10 lecturers from the Faculty of Earth Science participated in the event.

Perak Hanjoong celebrates Ramadhan with Padang Rengas Community
Our colleagues at Perak Hanjoong recently celebrated Ramadhan with the Padang Rengas community. To mark this occasion, Perak Hanjoong made financial contributions to the Padang Rengas police station, mosques, and suraus. These funds will facilitate the organisation of iftar programmes at their respective locations, benefitting some 2,700 community members in Padang Rengas.

Malaysia’s First University-Industry Research Consortium
YTL Cement and the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) have jointly launched the country’s first University-Industry Research Consortium, in collaboration with five top local universities: Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah, Universiti Malaysia Sabah dan Universiti Malaysia Sarawak.
Restoring Langkawi’s Coral Reefs
The Kedah Department of Environment, alongside Rakan Alam Sekitar (RAS), celebrated Hari Alam Sekitar Negara 2023 (HASN 2023) at Jerumuk Island. The event is a collective commitment towards fostering community awareness and responsibility in preserving and conserving Langkawi’s marine ecosystem through a coral rack planting activity.

BUILDS’ Second Recycling Open Day
On the 14th of October 2023, the momentum of sustainability continued to grow as BUILDS hosted its second Recycling Open Day at Wisma YTL Cement. This remarkable event, in collaboration with Geo Alam Environmental, aimed to inspire and promote sustainable waste management practices, all in conjunction with Hari Alam Sekitar Negara 2023.
HASN Celebrations at Kolej Vokasional Kuala Kangsar, Perak
We collaborated with Kolej Vokasional Kuala Kangsar (KVKK) to organise a host of activities in conjuction with HASN 2023 which was officiated by the Perak Department of Environment (DOE) Director. The event was aimed at fostering environmental awareness and combating environmental pollution, as well as empowering students and the Perak community to embrace a sustainable lifestyle.

Kloth Woman Up Programme
We held our first Recycling Open Day in December 2022. This initiative was a collaborative effort by Geo Alam Environmental (GAE) and YTL Hotels in collaboration with our CSR arm, BUILDS. We collected more than 2,400 kg of recyclable items, which were sold for RM1,580.00. All proceeds were donated to Kloth Malaysia Bhd.
